The Tulane University J. Bennett Johnston Health & Environmental Research Building was renovated by New Orleans architecture and interior design firm Eskew+Dumez+Ripple along with Markdesign LLC. The three-floor laboratory renovation of the seven-story facility achieved LEED-CI Gold certification after its completion in August 2013. The old model consisted of small individual rooms, which were converted into ballroom-style laboratory spaces, which are open and collaborative instead of closed off. AOS worked closely with the team to source furniture that would enhance the innovative, sustainable design and encourage collaboration between students.
