BRAND HIGHLIGHTS
THE BUZZ FROM THE COLLECTIVE
Check out a few of the exciting highlights below.
Test Lab Experience: Boom! Bop! Bang!
MillerKnoll’s story of quality is a point of differentiation for both the company and its brands, demonstrating their values of integrity, longevity and quality. At Design Days this year, the company recreated its Test Lab for an exhibit at Fulton Market, where it displayed the trials and tribulations of daily use. MillerKnoll’s Test Lab conducts some 2,500 different tests on products ranging from task chairs to height-adjustable desks to benching systems. Products don’t leave the Test Lab until they’ve surpassed industry guidelines and standards—ensuring that products from their brands stand the test of time.
Sustainable Design: Second Nature
At MillerKnoll’s Second Nature exhibit, Design Days guests immersed themselves in the company’s innovative, holistic approach to sustainability. The exhibit showcased the many ways their collective of brands are designing out waste, working to reduce their carbon footprint, and sourcing better materials to help us design a better planet. Guided by their purpose—design for the good of humankind—it has become second nature for MillerKnoll to design for circularity and pursue innovations in materials and processes that will make a measurable impact on people and the planet. The result is a powerful statement on MillerKnoll’s legacy as a leader in sustainability and their ongoing commitment to shape a better world.

Reintroducing Herman Miller’s Ideas magazine
In celebration of its 100th anniversary last year, Herman Miller launched a brand refresh, showcasing a refined visual identity and reintroducing designs from its archives, including its iconic Ideas magazine. Originally published as an internal quarterly from 1978 to 1982, Ideas was far more than a typical company bulletin. Each issue explored a single theme with cover designs so striking they are now sold as archival posters, like the 1978 cover by Linda Powell, his special, standalone edition of Ideas is now intended for a wider audience, featuring stories such as the making of the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman and a profile of the printmaker behind Herman Miller’s beloved Summer Picnic posters, making it a true design artifact for enthusiasts and newcomers alike. Bauhaus Classics Reframed
Knoll presented four Bauhaus-era collections by Marcel Breuer and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe in a palette of three ultra-matte finishes—an archival dark red, white, and onyx—demonstrating the transformative power of color. This release marks the first time marks that the tubular steel collections will be commercially produced in the ultra-matte colors, offer a contemporary re-framing of these classic designs.
