11 Jun FOLLOW AOS ALL THE WAY TO NEOCON
Most of us have probably heard of conventions like Comic Con and Vid Con: industry professionals coming together to discuss and embrace the worlds of comics and online videos. While those conventions may or may not suit your fancy, but I bet this one sure will: NeoCon. Since 1969, NeoCon has been the largest commercial interiors show in North America. From the crescent city to the windy city, we can’t wait to see what NeoCon has in store for us!
Between June 15 and 17, this three-day event attracts almost 50,000 design professionals to The Merchandise Mart in Chicago. The show launches a variety of new products and covers a range of vertical markets including Workplace, Healthcare, Hospitality, Retail, Education, Public Spaces and Government. In addition to offering one million square feet of exhibition space, first-class educational programming is offered. Featured is over 100 CEU-accredited seminars, association forums, special events and keynote presentations that showcase leading industry and business experts.
When it comes to products, this convention is anything but short of supply. NeoCon allows attendees to be the first to see innovative, next generation products and resources from more than 700 of the world’s top furnishings manufacturers. Product categories include architectural products, artwork and accessories, building products and services, fabric, floor coverings, furnishings, kitchen and bath, lighting, outdoor furniture, stone and tile, sustainable design products, technology, textiles and wall coverings. Whether you’re in search of something for a commercial office or a residential living room, NeoCon will display top-of-the-line products that are sure to catch your eye.
Perhaps the best part of NeoCon is being able to connect with the brightest minds and industry innovators for its keynote presentations. Show organizers have lined up three keynote speakers for 2015: Patricia Urquiola, renowned international designer and architect; Jason Silva, futurist and Emmy-nominated host of National Geographic Channel’s Brain Games; and Martin Lesjak and Dr. Anastasija Sugic, a multidisciplinary design team from Austria and 13&9 CEOs.
Whether you’ve attended for the past five years, embarking on your first journey, or already planning for next year’s convention, NeoCon has something for everyone. We hope you will follow us to the windy city via our new Instagram account @thinkaos and our AOS Facebook page.
