Launched in 2004, General Informatics (GI) has grown from a small start-up to a multi-million dollar company with 60-plus employees. The software company rethinks business processes to help clients streamline their organization and increase efficiency through better technology.
Designed by Eskew+Dumez+Ripple and Manning Architects, the @Highland development in Baton Rouge houses its new corporate headquarters. Located at the intersection of Highland Road and Bluebonnet Boulevard, General Informatics is nestled near the Bluebonnet Swamp, and its building design provides plenty of daylighting to give a sense of immersion into the surrounding nature and support a healthy environment. Their headquarters also encourage a collaborative culture. Various conference rooms, huddle rooms and workstations are aptly designed and named to spark innovation.
General Informatics is spearheading the campus, which will soon be home to more pioneering companies. While the @Highland technology park currently houses General Informatics’ headquarters, it will ultimately include businesses, retail and restaurants to support Baton Rouge’s growing market and serve the next generation of creative thinkers with its modern, mixed-use development that explores how design affects the way we live, work and play.
