Resolutions!

As we close out 2014 and make our resolutions for the New Year, many people will be vowing to eat healthier, hit the gym more, go on that juice cleanse or all of the above. We definitely agree that those are excellent ways to kick off a great year, but being a company with many team members living in the greater New Orleans area we have a few slightly more indulgent resolutions here at AOS. So here are just a few ways we intend to let the good times roll in 2015.

Brunch at the new Brennan’s

Ralph Brennan and Terry White’s highly anticipated $20+ million dollar revamp of the legendary Pink Lady on Royal Street is at the top of our 2015 hit list for multiple reasons. Start with 16,000 square feet of glorious design, add chef Slade Rushing’s innovative take on the iconic menu and top it all of with champagne sabers…we are sold! The cherry on top of our jubilee is that AOS played a small part in the new look by providing the – not so small – custom green banquettes in the Garden Patio room.

Catch a show at the Jazz and Heritage Center

It is hard not to be a music lover in the town credited with giving birth to Jazz, especially when you have organizations like the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation supporting our unique musical culture and the talented individuals who create it. The Foundation is responsible for bringing us Jazz Fest, Crescent City Blues and BBQ Fest, the Louisiana Cajun Zydeco Fest, the Heritage School of Music, the radio station WWOZ and many other programs that enrich our city. We were lucky enough to help supply the furniture in their latest project, The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Center. The Center will function as a 12,500 square foot home for the arts dedicated to preserving and promoting our vibrant culture. It features seven classrooms designed for music education and a 200-seat performance hall for local and touring acts. We cannot wait to take in a show in this spectacular space.

Watch a New Orleans Pelicans practice

As the New Orleans Pelicans continue to pick up wins this season, it is clear that they have been making good use of their state-of-the-art practice facility that was unveiled in 2013. With amenities like a spacious locker room that includes a barber’s chair, a locker room large enough to have a lounge area and a film room featuring stadium seating, we imagine it’s a pretty nice place to go to work everyday. The facility also includes offices for all basketball operations personnel and coaches that are outfitted with some pretty nice office furniture, if we do say so ourselves. The two practice courts have adjoining bleachers for special guests to watch certain practices, so this year we are resolving to become some of those guests.

See you next year!
